Bangalore, Jan. 9:?
Michael Dell, Founder and CEO, Dell Inc, on Monday said that his company plans to use?India both for R&D and as a manufacturing centre.
Interacting with a cross-section of industry leaders and engineers, Mr Dell?said that for his company it was not a choice between India and China but both the countries were equally important. ?It is India and China, not India or China,? he said.
He said India has a huge human capital base and it was important for Dell to make use of such resources. ?I see more variation by customer size than by geography,? he said.
He said the next billion users will be more focussed on hardware. He pointed out that the tablet is the third most important device after the PC and the smart phone.
Mr Dell said his company has two billion interactions with customers every year and uses social media extensively to enhance relationships.
On the issue of cloud computing, he said while it is an accelerator, its importance has been underestimated and at the same time over-hyped.
